Default Dog Rescue Desperately Needs Temporary Foster Homes

The rescue I am with is in BIG need of temporary foster homes. Forever foster homes also needed, too., but mainly temporary foster homes. Low Rider Dachshund Rescue of Florida is becoming so popular and taking in so many little dogs that find themselves without homes that we find our foster homes are at capacity often. We need more foster homes so we never have to tell someone "No, we can't help you."

What do foster parents do? They provide shelter, food, and love. You may be asked to take the dog to the vet in your area that the rescue works with. People sometimes have the wrong impression that the dogs all have something wrong with them or they are problem dogs. That is not the case. My little dog was in a foster home and I can tell you she is the best, smartest, healthiest little dog we've ever seen. Many dogs become homeless because their human parent passed away or went into a nursing home. Sometimes people fall on hard times and have to make some hard decisions. Sometimes people want to travel and a dog isn't going to work for them in their travel plans. These little dogs all become homeless and that is where the rescue steps in. We take those little dogs in, address their medical needs (paid for by the rescue), and find them loving homes. These little dogs just need a place to land during the time in between their previous home and their new home. Can you provide a landing spot for one?

Also, some good reasons to foster that some may not have thought about:
1) if you are looking to possibly adopt, you get to try out a dog before you adopt
2) you may like the idea of having a dog around to love on, but you don't want to be tied to a dog for the next 10 years
3) you may like the idea of volunteering and doing good in the world and like being around animals

Anyone interested in fostering can go to the Low Rider Dachshund Rescue of Florida website where you can find the fostering application.
