For months we have been complaining about cleaning those awful gray grates on the stove. I have a solution: DEGREASER - spray it on the grates; allow it to sit for a cpl of minutes in your sink & scrub off. It works better than anything else I have tried.......forget the ammonia - I tried that & the fumes will just about overpower you!

GE is offering to send a REPLACEMENT SET N/C; however, they are still gray. I don't know if there is a time limit for this.

I do agree with this, I despise cleaning my Gas stove. I believe that we should have
had the choice of which stove to have in our houses. Phillis Kuchefski

I understand the developer had a fall out with the gas company and decided to build houses with only electric stoves. Is this True? Can anyone add to this.

Does anyone have any info regarding the replacement program offered by GE? I thought it was something we did during cooking and will give the degreaser a try. The orange citrus cleaner works well, but a bit of scrubbing is still required. Thanks in advance for the info. on GE.

We bought in 2001 and we had a choice of gas or electric. The electric would have been an additional $350 to run the wiring so we went with the gas. I wish I would have spent the extra and got an electric stove. It is great for eggs or something that needs immediate heat but it takes forever to heat water for noodles, etc..

However, on the bright side, my gas bill is only $25 a month and we eat at home most nights.

My new home came with a gas stove but it is wired for electric also so I can change it if I want. I have never had gas before and haven't used the stove yet, so we shall see.
