Bought the home at the end of October and signed up with a well known vendor for Pest, Lawn, and Irrigation service. All services provided an initial inspection. Knock on door this morning. "Good morning, I am here for your quarterly irrigation system inspection." OK, it's only been two months since the first one, but go ahead.
The initial inspection in November identified about eight items that needed replacement at an estimated cost of $300.00. Today's inspection identified one item that needed replacing at a cost of $75.00. What makes this interesting is that I have not replaced any of the items identified in November. I will be in their office on Monday to have an interesting conversation.
I wonder if Santa replaced the bad valves, solenoids, heads, etc?

The upselling of constant services appears to be very common in TV. Buyer beware of these unneeded services.

By starting with "a well known vendor", you're telling us nothing.

You really don't need this extra service of inspections every 3 months!! Been here 8 years, and never needed to pay for irrigation inspection etc. (and I have large property with 8 stations)Either it works, or it doesn't. If it's a problem beyond your control, then you seek a reputable service technician, in only that field. Please don't get taken by hustlers

Well said from a poster I have learned to respect and trust.

I'm going to go out on a limb and recommend you call in Massey for a free consultation. I have been here about 9 years and have used several other companies for the care of the lawn and irrigation. This past year I got Massey in to give me their recommendations, liked what we heard and gave them the job. We are very pleased with them and would highly recommend their work and customer service.

I agree but be careful with the services that they try to sell you. I use them for the lawn and trees and shrubs.
But I have found cheaper pest control and termite inspection service with another company.

Massey will do the same thing...they inspected my irrigation system and gave me a list of things they said needed repair or replacement to the tune of $175. I did have one head that was broken. Someone gave me a name of a Villager who does irrigation work....he replaced the head. He checked everything else out, made some adjustments of the spray patterns, but didn't find anything else that needed to be done. I can't remember what he charged, but I remember thinking it was about what should be charged to replace a head....and was in fact, less than I expected

Since living here I 've done the upkeep on our irrigation system myself. Only had to replace about 3 rotator heads and adjust the spray range to keep from watering the street and sidewalk. I've also replaced a faulty rain sensor. I have found all my troubleshooting information on Hunters website.

If you are looking to have your sprinkler and sprinkler heads inspected call Action Irrigation...Chip Parrish. He is wonderful to work with. We had Stellar as our lawn car service last year ( we no longer have them) and we asked them to inspect our irrigation. They did and said we needed 1,200.00 worth of work. We called Action Irrigation and he charged us 150.00. He is more than fair and is prompt. His number is 352-516-2281. He knows what he is doing.
