Mrs. Buggy and I were at Lake Sumter Landing this evening and enjoyed about 45 minutes of Susie Castas' singing. Very talented entertainer.

The tropical breeze was blowing pretty good until about 5:35 and then it got very calm and the sky darkened even more than is normal for that time of evening. I remembered a weather situation this past summer when a surprise microburst hit Lake Sumter Landing and did not want to be around anything like that. I suggested to Mrs. Buggy that we head back to Glenbrook in the golfcart. We got home in about 15 minutes and within 10 minutes of that, the rain began to fall and lightning began to flash.

I looked at The Weather Channel app on the iPad and it showed a huge line of thunderstorms right through our area here in The Villages. Very nice app to have.

Anyhow, the rain has ended and it sure was better than having any of that stuff called snow. Life is good in The Villages.

It poured here on Sanibel. I couldn't help but think of those who were enjoying the music at the squares. I imagine there was a massive scatter of people And carts. Glad everyone is safe and hopefully dry by now.

I had dinner on the lanai with Larry watching the spectacular show. It was the best evening I've had in a long time. and the Seahawks won football. Does it get better?

I have a very good radar app for my iPad. It is the NOAA Hi-Def " Radar Cast Elite". It is very fast and much better than the radar we can get through the Weather Channel app. There are two versions for iPad. One is free and one is $2.99. Read the details for each and decide which will work for you.

If that rain was snow, we would have been buried in it.

Directv went out for ten minutes or so, and came back on. Life is good in the neighborhood.!!!!

Smart move leaving when you did. We were there that evening the storm blew through LSL back in the summer. Tom & I had bought our house earlier in the day and went to Red Sauce for dinner outside. It had been a slow constant rain most of the day and all of a sudden lightning was shooting the sky and the winds picked up. We looked up and chairs were flying through the air, along with huge palm leaves and watched small bushes being ripped out of the ground. The high winds ripped the awning right off the building and it was flying through the air headed towards the people sitting outside in the restaurant. Luckily, it hit the structural beam and went in another direction. No one got hurt. I'll never forget how bad I felt for the vendors as their tents were torn to shreds, and their goods were flying through the air.

Needless to say I was terrified. Never saw anything like it and looked at Tom and said " Honey did we do the right thing buying a house in Florida? " After this horrible record breaking cold and snow fall winter in Michigan I no longer question our decision to move to Florida. Yep, we did the right thing.

I find the free Weather Bug app to give excellent real-time radar results - have it on both my Android phone and Samsung Galaxy 3 tablet.

I sat in the garage at the door watching the approaching storm and the fantastic lightning show and then the downpour.
