Does anyone know the name of the weed killer that is used by The Villages on the golf courses and by the lawn service provides (e.g. Deans) that is dark green when applied? They use it in the garden beds and on the lawn.

If it is dark green it is probably a herbicide.

If it's really dark it might be over seeding ??????

I don't know what they use on the golf courses, but many weed killers (herbicides) show a spurt of growth as the plant begins to die. I'm not sure, but that could account for the temporary deeper color.

There is a blue dye in the mix to indicate where spraying has been done. It's used in weed killer, insecticides, and fungicides. If a laborer needs to leave the course, he/she can see where spraying stopped. This directly from the horses mouth.
