Good afternoon. We just closed on our home in TV of Amelia and need some advise on tropical shade trees ??? Our Lanai faces west and we are in dire need of shade. :dontknow: I want to stay tropical, having moved from Pa. I don't want oak-maple etc. We need advise on types of trees and a good landscaper that won't break my state retirement pension. :bigthumbsup: Thanks dk

We also have a west-facing lanai. We put in a row of bottle brush bushes very close together for a privacy wall. They grow pretty fast and grow together to make a nice border.

We also brought solar blinds for the lanai, and a retractable awning for the open birdcage.
