Can't find much on reviews of electric carts. Looking at EZ-GO, Par and Star. Star looks good but some people don't like it. What are your impressions after working on them? In your opinion, what electric lasts longest?

Club car gets high marks for its longevity they have had in our market, they offer the most in after market products and add on's.
Where they take a back seat is the popular carts some of what you mention are the ones that have the capability of eight batteries that give longevity and run time on a charge. Surprisingly Club Car has not competed for that market.

So what car with what battery configuration, in your opinion, would have the longest range per charge and the best uphill power? Hubby is leaning toward gas if we buy here as the electric cart in our rental labors up a slope and he almost didn't make it back to the unit after running around looking at clubs at three courses so would like more distance.

Most rental carts are not to be compared to the performance carts available either factory built or custom built buy reputable dealers.
Visit dealers and listen to the features and benefits and take test rides of gas or electric and your choice will be decided by you on comfort, noise or no noise, easy handling, safety features and dealer care. Don't judge by the potential range of what you could do once in a while, judge on what your average needs and comforts are. There are people who love there electric carts and also the lovers of Gas carts.
