I figured that subject heading might catch a little attention. Alas, it's not what you think. Ive got a few patches of dead grass in my yard and I've done all I think I can do. The "Lawn Wizards" have said the dead areas are caused by chinch bugs so I treated the grass - and nothing. my wife and I did some excavating - approximately 45 square feet of dead grass was cut out and we replaced with NEW Sod. Lucky me. It looked good for about 2 weeks and then - dead as a door nail ( not sure where that term came from ). So, anyone out there in telecommunicationsland can you recommend a voodoo doctor, a doctor of Green Thumbology, or do you have a magic potion. I shouldnt obsess I know.... But a nice lawn really looks good!!! In my former residence(s) GRASS was only in the park - Central Park!!! Thanks all. Sid www.myspace/fireonwindcsr

You can't buy an insecticide strong enough for the chinch bugs
you need a commercial application to do them in and patience
had cinchbug problem in our last home and it took almost a year to recover ...
they( cinch bugs) think new sod is delicious
but a regular application by a commercial applicator( ie True Green, Scotts etc.)takes about 3 or 4 months and then the grass will slowly spread over the spots .........
they were probably imported by the people that mow your lawn but maybe not
