Watched so much weather channel on television today to check in on the weather back home, I felt that I should rush to the store for milk, bread, eggs, toilet paper and ice! :)

But then I snapped back to reality and just went and covered my tender plants!

It made me wonder though, is there ever a situation in our area here that sends folks to the market for milk, bread, eggs, toilet paper and ice because of an impending weather situation?

Possibly if there's a major hurricane but they rarely do much this far inland except rain a lot with some high winds and, sadly, the occasional tornado. You can usually go out in them if you have to but not a lot of fun.

Well, you can still do it and telll people that you are expressing your solidarity with the people stuck up north...

It's never a bad idea to have at least few days worth of water and shelf stable food in your house.
