We are new to the Village of Collier. We heard there was a social group in Collier and would be be interested in joining and getting to know people in our neighborhood.

Its worth trying to e-mail Kristin but I heard the membership is closed due to the group reaching its capacity of 500 members. There is talk of another Collier group being started but not any details yet.
It was just a few months ago about 30 people at the Collier pool formed this group and its amazing how quick they grew. I hear its the largest social group in TV, but not sure if its a fact.

You are right this group is closed to new members. It is way too big at 500 members since only about half can go to any one social event in Eisinhower's biggest room. A number of smaller groups need to form, with a maximum of perhaps 200 in a group. This would give people a chance to mingle and meet a number of people at a social activity.
The best thing you can do now is always carry your social cards and exchange them with others. Take the Initiative and call them inviting them over for left over night (easy low key) go to a restaurant (Havanas?), try Mystic adult desserts or a film in Brownwood. Remember everyone is trying to meet people and will welcome your suggestions. The best way is to find a few other fun people and see if you can’t make it grow into a social group of your own.

Hi,
I live in Collier since October. I've met many wonderful people at the pool, at the Collier group and at the rec centers. There are many people who are looking to meet new friends because we're all in the same situation. If you are interested in joining a church group The United Methodist New Covenent Church has services at Eisenhower every Sunday at 10:30. Eventually their church in Lake Deaton will be completed but until then it is at Eisenhower. It's very exciting to be the start of a new church ! If you decide to try it on a Sunday let me know I'd be happy to meet you there and introduce myself. Meanwhile, a big welcome ! I'm sure you'll love it here and will meet friends quickly.
