TV is a lot better than freezing your butt off.
Come on down. Wherever you stay, will be better than NY.

.
Based on the opinion of Kid and son-in-law with grandkid.......
.....The MARRIOTT at Spanish Springs is far and away the BETTER HOTEL.
Cleaner....Quieter...Nicer and BIGGER Rooms.
.
I prefer the ambiance of Lake Sumter Landing and vote for the Waterfront Inn. We've had guests who stay there and they love it. So convenient to all of LSL and beautiful views.

If The Villages has assigned you a real estate sales person, that person can get you a discount at The Waterfront. We came down here in 2012 on a last minute visit, stayed at The Waterfront, and got the discount, which I think was 20% off. The Waterfront is a very nice hotel, and very convenient to Lake Sumter Landing.

I have stayed a few times at the Marriott at Spanish Springs, and I found it to be clean and friendly and a nice breakfast. I have not stayed at the Waterfront, which does seem to be more convenient since it is located at Sumter Landing.
A suggestion, though: if you do not have a Marriott Rewards number, go to their website and get a free one (another one for your spouse), and then sign up for their current promotion, which is typically to pay for 2 nights, then get a 1 night free (which will be rewarded later & cannot be used on this stay). Each person can earn 2 nights free; thus, your spouse can probably earn a night or two. Just an idea.
Enjoy your stay! I am soon moving to TV, so I don't plan to stay at a hotel there any more. :)

Yes this will be our first time, we have some friends and customers who live in the Villages and Stonecrest they are very happy with all the friendly people and activities and we are hoping we can find our happy place in the Villages Thanks. We will talk to the Villages Sales dept about the discount Thanks so much for the info! Oh we experienced a heat wave only -24 this am minus 2 right now very cold snap!
