Whether or not it was recommended by The Villages Relocation Service, which moving company did you use? Were you pleased with the service? If not, why not? I'll be relocating from Albany, NY but am interested in your response no matter where you relocated from. I'm expecting most people used a nationwide mover. THANKS!

We relocated from Binghamton, NY and used Hill Mayflower in Ocala. They were wonderful. Did a great job and were on time. Our furniture arrived exactly on the day and hour they said it would.

We moved here in July from Pennsylvania and used The Village Relocation Service. They had United Van Lines contact us. We had United move us and we were very pleased. They packed up everything on a Weds and were at our home in The Villages before 9:00 A.M. that Friday. Everyone we dealt with prior to and during the move were professional. The only damage was to a large clay pot that I didn't really need. By using the relocation services the cost was just under $4K.

MSNPA, Do you remember how many pounds you moved?

jidees,
I pulled out the paper work and if I am reading correctly it was 6420 lbs. While we did not have a great deal of furniture we did move a motorcylce. The cost was estimated at $8980 and with discount and taxes it ended up at $3687.

A friend of mine mentioned that it would probably cost me around $20,000 to move from Illinois (western subrubs) to TV! She's moved about 15 times in her life due to job changes so I figured she had a handle on it.

But I felt this was ridiculously high and now that I read this post, I see that it's more in line to what I thought, round $4-$6K to move.

We plan to sell lot of our furniture because it's too ornate for FLA.

Anyone move from Chicago< IL to TV within the past few years? If so, can you share what it cost you to move. Thanks

Used NorthAmerican twice in the last 4 years. Only one I know that is ISO9000-certified in its procedures. Bottom line - two moves (FL-MD & MD-FL) with no damage.
