It was reported by a local news source today that a 53 year old resident living on San Marino drive has been arrested on a felony drug charge by the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office on charges of obtaining a controlled substance by concealing information to obtain a prescription.

I am guessing he may be the son of the owner of the home as his first name is different than the names listed on the deed and those homes were built in the mid nineties.

Good detective work Gracie.

Sound like the son has a drug problem that he hasn't licked yet. How sad for the parents to have to deal with something like this. :(

Shamefully, it always seems to reflect/cast a negative portrayal upon the parents, who most of the time are unaware of current situations.

I disagree ... if Mom/Dad have a 50-something ne'er do well son living at home with them, they probably already know he's a 8-ball.

Why is it, they don't give the complete address of the person involved, along with name? The reason I ask, is because in New Hampshire, they list name and address, so you are aware what is living next door!!

It was reported in that local online news source. The name and the complete address. I just didn't copy it. It even showed the mug shot. It apparently is a case of someone who has become addicted to prescription drugs. Addiction is an awful thing.

Not always true. I am a 50-something living with my parents...helping Dad take care of Mom.... Never judge too early, even though I probably a little off myself.

You forgot the ne'er do well part, so you don't fit that category. There are several that live here who are helping take care of their parents. There are several that live here because of economics. Then there are those who live here because they can't survive in the "real" world whether because of drug or alcohol issues, mental disorders, physical issues. Parents certainly know why their child is living with them. I can't imagine a parent not knowing their son is a drug user (although I'm sure a part of them would be in a large state of denial).

Yes, this man obviously has a drug addiction, but, on the other hand maybe he is doing a deed for another person.. No one knows!! As far as the parents are concerned if there son is 53 and living with them they obviously know there are problems. Apple usually does not fall far from the head.
I also came from NH and I do not ever remember seeing a full address on any person convicted of a crime ( last name, street and city but no house # ) unless it was sexual in nature.
I would say this person probably needs our prayers right now....

Susan. On the online news site that the original post came from, the person was named and their exact address was also listed.

I think that he was shopping doctors because every nerve, synapse, cell, neuron in his entire body is crying for the chemical it has become dependent on. It must be awful to watch a child sink to this. AWFUL.

I like when they post address and name!!!! Why doesn't Daily Sun do that? If you know?

Why would anyone possibly need to know the exact address?

Here is my guess. That policy was probably initiated by the Morses when they owned the paper, perhaps for the same reason that suicides are not reported, perhaps out of some respect for the privacy of people who live here. I am GUESSING that when the paper was sold that there was some agreement to keep the policies pretty much the same and it does garner a lot of criticism from those who not Morse fans. Such as calling it the "happy paper" and saying that bad news is squelched so as to sell more houses.

I think the Sun could do a better job of reporting crime and I think the new online news is an excellent reason that they may change.
