I know this is gonna sound crazy, but it works great. We recently bought a house where the previous owners were smokers. The house had been painted and we had all of the carpet replaced with tile. We have 3 patio doors leading to the lanai that have vertical blinds that were all stained. We took down one side at a time, the individual blind only unsnaps at the top. We curled them into our top load clothes washer, they hug the outside so the agitator doesn't touch them. We washed them just as we would wash clothes but let them soak for about an hour. after washing, we just hung them back up and let them dry with a towel under to catch any drips. They look like new. We had nothing to lose, because we were going to replace them with new ones if washing didn't help. Give it a try.
