Where have you parked when you drive to Miami for a cruise? Also, if you go to Miami to visit - where do you prefer to stay. Thanks

I just bite the bullet and use the parking facility on the pier and pay the (I think $20/day) fee when I get back. I know some hotels have parking deals where if you stay with them the night before the cruise they let you park in their lot for a week. I would rather not hassle with the hotel shuttle for the $160 bucks that parking will cost.

I always park at the parking garages at the Port of Miami. As a previous poster stated, parking runs $20/day, cheaper off-site, but those areas look a little seedy to me. Nothing worse than coming back from a wonderful cruise, only to see your car vandalized. Love the convenience of the car across the street. With luggage in tow, we are away quickly while others are sitting there waiting for shuttle busses.

I am guessing I need to know what terminal the cruise line uses - or is the parking terminal like it is in Tampa - whereas all the terminals are close? Thanks a lot

Parking is conveniently available at all cruise terminals. Designated disabled permit parking spaces are available in each garage. Spaces are also available for oversized vehicles (oversized vans, recreational vehicles and vehicles with trailers) at special rates. All facilities are patrolled by security. Oversized vehicles may only park in Lot #2, across from Cruise Terminal E.

The parking garages are basically across the street from the cruise terminals, a short 5 minute walk. We usually drive around and drop our luggage off with the porters, then go and park the car. Make sure you keep all your essential cruise documents, passports, ID's, and carry-ons with you and have fun and eat lots of food on the ship :a040:
