View Full Version : Where does the info go?
At the gate, swipe the pass to enter.
Go to Katie Bell's, swipe the pass to get in the door.
Go the your class, swipe the pass.
Activity Center....swipe.
Golf....swipe.
Where does all this information go?

I've never had to do any of this swiping. AT the gate, we use the gate card...no id.
At Katie Belle's, we show our residence card to the "guard." No swap of ID information.

Yes, I've wondered this too. Like is "Big Brother" keeping track of our comings and goings? I think, yes, there is probably a way for them to tell when and where every Villager comes and goes every day. Why they would care or why they would do this I don't know...but I'm sure if they go to the trouble of having scanners at the gates and bar code readers at the Rec Centers...it's for a reason. Somewhere, on a computer, is all the data of all the gate cards and ID cards used. Do you not think that if a Villager came up "missing"...God Forbid!!!...that the "Powers That Be" couldn't track their every move until and if they left The Villages? YEP...I think so!!!

Wait until you hear what's coming in about a year. You know the chips they put in your cats and dogs, so they can be returned to you if lost? Well, all residents will soon need to have chip implants. The chip will be required in order to gain access to all Villages activities...pools, rec centers, etc. No chip...no entry. That's the only way to control use of facilities by residents only.

I forgot something......
JUST KIDDING!
BestMicky,
You joke but someday it will probably come to that. Right now every move a visitor makes is tracked....restaurants included. Good marketing tool.

All your info is on that little ID card. The Country Club pool monitor can see you paid to swim there, your trail fee is paid, all that good stuff.

I've heard that the chip will be programmed to (a) keep you smiling at all times ;D and (b) prevent you from remembering that there is a TOTV website!
