I watched this show and I must say the performances were excellent. McCartney hasn't lost much off his fastball.

The Beatles changed America and the music industry forever. It felt like the show was ten minutes long, and it was two and half hours. Gotta get those commercials in.

I would be interested to hear your thoughts about this show, and what you liked best!!

It was a really good show. Shame John and George were not there. It would have been nice to have Julian do a song of his fathers, but unfortunately the only son attending was Sean,. I saw Paul a few years back. front row. My wife attended two of the famous Shea Stadium concerts. Her father was in the movie business and got her tickets. I like Stevie Wonder but wasnt thrilled with his rendition. Worth watching. Her Joe? We seem to have more in common than baseball. I will be getting in touch with you within a week or two.

:agree: about the stevie wonder rendition but I thought the best was done by John Mayer and Keith Urban with their dueling guitars. Can't remember what song they did but it was exceptional. IMHO

Tommy:

I wll look foward, to hearing friom you.

I loved the show, so nostalgic. George was always my favorite, but Paul sounded great. I usually like Annie Lenox but I didn't care for her on the song she did. Never liked Stevie Wonder. Every couple of years I pull out the movie A Hard Day's Night and get all nostalgic.

"While My Guitar Gently Weeps" with Joe Walsh was excellent. The crowd was on their feet.

Can't imagine how they could have none it any better. It was absolutely fabulous (except for maybe Annie Hill's matronly looking dress !).

Great show, brought back a lot of memories. I was in Singapore on HMS Bulwark when I first heard the Beatles and thought they wouldn't last. Shows you how much I know about the music business. Stevie Wonder should have stayed home.

We loved it all EXCEPT Kati Perry's rendition of Yesterday. I made my ears hurt!!! But everyone else did a wonderful job honoring the Beatles.

I'm looking forward to seeing someone's DVR recording. I was busy last night with a little celebration of my own. I've nothing but great things about it.

If you need another Beatles fix, you can get one every Friday morning at 10:00 at the O'Dell Rec Center.

I put this on my calendar to watch and somehow I got busy and forgot. I could kick myself. Does anyone know if it's on On Demand somewhere or on YouTube where I could watch it? I can't believe I missed it!!! I was so looking forward to it and everyone is talking about it. I'd have a pity party for myself except I'd probably forget to go.

Enjoyed it very much. Did not like Stevie Wonders. Katie Perry was just OK.
Since George's son had played, I thought it would have been cool had Julian,(don't know if Sean plays) and Georges son played with Ringo and Paul.
Just saying:coolsmiley:

It was excellent. So very nostalgic for me.

We watched it twice as it was recorded.
Took a break from viewing the Olympics.........

I recall the date that they arrived in the U.S. very well as it was the same date that my "husband to be" was flying out of Newark airport to Fort Knox Kentucky to begin his training as a drill sergeant. His brother in law drove the two of us out to the airport so that I could say goodbye for the six months.......

Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr were awesome (as the kids say).
I can't remember when I've enjoyed a t.v. show more, to be perfectly honest. Loved Keith Urban as well as all of the others.

Everyone was great. Also loved that opening group who sounded like the Beatles......Maroon? Didn't catch the spelling.

Fabulous music from a bygone era.
Innocent by todays standards.........but so were we all.

We need more shows like that, rather than all the blood , guts and gore on t.v. of late.

Maroon 5, the lead singer is Adam Levine. He is a coach on The Voice and this year's Sexiest Man Alive in People.

Besides Joe Wash being great, his voice is so unique, Steve Lukather of Toto and Peter Frampton were both really good as the backing guitarist on most every act.

I especially like the combo of John Mayer and Keith Urban rendition of "Get Back".

Dualing guitars. It was awesome.

BTW - Paul was always my favorite, just slightly ahead of John. They were great musicians that made a unique sound.

I always loved Stevie but he made a Beatles classic into an all Stevie song and it was a disaster. He forgot it was a tribute to the Fab 4 not to Stevie Wonder. I also thought Katy Perry should not have sung Yesterday, a classic man's song. BUT...loved the show!!
