My sister and brother-in-law have had so many problems with their Par Car. Seems there is a battery issue that can not be resolved. They just got their street legal Par Car back from two weeks in the repair shop and it quit on them again after driving it only a couple of miles.

Is my sister and brother-in-law's Par Car a lemon? Have you had problems with the batteries in your Par Car? Please fill me in because I had my heart set on an electric cart and was planning on purchasing a Par Car.

Thank you.

We love our electric Par car and have had not a single problem ( oops, I probably just jinxed myself..lol) It was purchased in Sept of 2012.

I know of some owners who absolutely swear by their Par Cars -- one couple is on their third one and wouldn't dream of owning anything else. I know of others who absolutely swear AT their Par Cars. The online charger has been known to have many problems. To me, the biggest argument against owning one is that most of the local mechanics have nothing good to say about them. Some even refuse to work on them.

We purchased a Par Car in 2007 and replaced the batteries once, in 2012. I love our Par Car, it has never let me down.

They're not the biggest in the country for no reason. I've owned them for more than twenty years...terrific electric golf cart. And here in The Villages their dealer, Town & Country E-Z-GO is outstanding--honest, friendly, great service...the whole package.

Another vote for the EZGO, AC motor no brakes to replace, but not as feature rich as Par or Star and no aluminum frame like Club Car. Research them all and make your decision. I went electric and am very happy with my decision.

My neighbor bought a new one a couple of years ago, it has been picked up by par car at least 6 or 7 times for repair.

Sweetie bought a used one a couple years ago and it runs like a charm.

My Yamaha does too. And in cart years it is about as old as I am.

I have a 2014 par car eagle and so far I love it. Have only owned it about four months. I am very pleased with the range of travel the batteries produce.

We bought ours in Sept 2010 with the maintenance-free batteries. These batteries died every 6 months. Replaced 3 times, then they replaced them with the regular batteries and stopped even selling the maintenance-free ones. After that, no problems. We love our ParCar and they were very good during our period of trouble. Always supplied us with a loaner so we were never without a golf cart. Good company to deal with.

We bought a new Par Car in 2012 and we love it. We get great distance travel on it and love the smooth quiet ride. We knew we did not want a gas golf cart (hate the gas fumes) so our choice was clear. We had one issue with a rubbing noise and they picked it up, gave us a loaner, and fixed the problem.

We have had our Parcar for a year. No problems.

Have had a Par Car since Nov 2012 and have had no issues. Added back 2 seats and will add a speedometer and a Battery Minder soon.

Has anyone added a Battery Minder ?

Thanks

Thanks to all who have replied. Good to hear the positive comments about the Par Car and that there are fewer folks who have had problems with the car than those who have not.

Maybe this Par Car came off the same assembly line my sister's did.

We have 3 sets of friends that own ParCars. They would never buy another one. Costs them tons of $$ with repairs.

Bought a 2008 on the resale market in 2010 and was told that I would have to get new batteries. The price was right when factoring in the price of new batteries so I bought it. Had the cart checked out at the assembly plant in Leesburg and was given complete instructions on the use care and maintaneince of the cart. I was pleased when the original ones lasted 2 more seasons as we are snow birds. Replaced the batteries in 2012 and added a BatteryMinder this year. The cart runs great and I enjoy sitting higher than other carts so I can see more of the road. The sales manager, Greg, is great as are all of the guys and gales in Leesburg. When it time to replace this cart, it will be with another Par Car! Besides, the frame and major components are manufactured in the USA in Wisconsin.

I bought a used Club Car that had a Battery Minder installed in it. I liked it so much that I had one installed in my other Club Car. It keeps the battery fully charged which the supplied charger does not especially when the cart is not used all the time. In short money well spent.
