Hi everyone. This is Jessica, Redwitch's daughter.
About two days ago, my mom got really sick. She was in so much pain.
This morning I drove her to the hospital. I knew it was serious, because my mom never goes to the hospital.
The doctors told her she needs surgery to remove her Gull bladder. She will be going through an operation tonight, and will need some time to recover.
My mom told me not to worry, but with every surgery there are risks. I will be praying for her, and anyone else can feel free to pray as well.
My mom is very fond of you guys and wants me to let you know what is going on.
Thanks.

Hi Jessica,
I will say a prayer for you and your mother.
The gall bladder surgeries are performed through a small incision and the risks are very low.
This website might help you.

My thoughts are with her AND you. This summer I went to the hospital with pain and nausea. Turned out I had adhesions, gall stones and an ovarian cyst. My surgeon in Ocala fixed them all all at once laproscopically. I went in the hospital at 1pm and home at 8pm. Hurt a little but not too much. Went on a cruise one week later. Those surguries aren't what they used to be. There are dangers but not too many. Hugs

Jessica, I was wondering why I didn't hear from her yesterday. We were supposed to go shopping tomorrow for the turkey, etc. Please, please let me know if I can help. My phone number is xxx-xxx-xxxx. Can I go and visit her with you when you go? Can they do the surgery laposcop.. whatever. My Dad had his taken out when he was 75 and it wasn't too bad. But I will pray for her and you. Sincerely Kathie

Hi Jessica, have always enjoyed Mom's posts. Please let her know that she's in our thoughts and prayers--and remember too that surgical techniques are so improved that even though she (and you indirectly) has to go through this ordeal, it may turn out to be not as bad as anticipated. All the best!

Thank u all for your kind words. i went to visit my mom tonight. She is what they call a bleeder. LOL. She is still a little sick, but not in as much pain. They are feeding her jello and some ice water. Her two least favorite things. LOL
She should be out in the next few days. Tomorrow I will give her the laptop so she can talk to you guys about any questions or well wishes.
Thanks again
PS I think our Thanksgiving is off now. My mom will be too weak to shop or cook. Believe me, i would do it, but i dont want to burn down the house, and honestly Id rather stay with her until she gets better. Thanksgiving dinner or not.

Hi Jessica,
We will continue to pray.
It sounds as though you still have a sense of humor and that is very important when someone is sick. We are praying for you both. I wish I could help out. I am sure that Thanksgiving dinner is the LAST thing on her mind.
Please keep us updated.
She is lucky that she has you.

Jessia,
Try no to worry. The pain from the gall baldder attack is much worse than the surgery.
I had mine removed in July at 10:00 am and was home by 4:00 pm and back to work fiour days later. I will keep you both in my prayers and thoughts.

Wished they'd let me out but not til bodily functions happen. And, how pray tell do they expect my body to do anything on only liquids. Doctors are soooooooooooooo unreasonable.
Since Donna is such a great organizer, I will PM her with my home address and she can handle as appropriate.
And I'm really bummed about Thanksgiving but just can't do it. :(

I was coming down next week with the thoughts of PB& Jelly samwitches for Thanksgiving, so you see, this is not a setback[center]
[center]I was thinkin that now I'll boogie down to "Sweetbaby" and pick up some Turkey Balogna. This way we can upgrade to a classier samwitch :o
Whatcha think?? I'll even deliver. You want pickles with that??

Sounds like a plan Handi.
Well, now it looks like a few more days here. My oxygen level dropped to the point where I should be incoherent. Keep trying to tell them I slept all scrunched up and that didn't fly with them. They can't figure out why all their tests are negative! SHEESH

Good luck and may God bless to you, your Mom and your family. Mine is scheduled for removal after Thanksgiving. Just hope to make it by then without any rush to the hospital. Was told they do 3 small cuts and 1 larger where it gets removed. That it's in and out same day if all goes well.
If they need to make a large incision they claim 4 to 5 day stay and 4 to 6 weeks in recovery so no golf till mid January. I can't have that and hope that your Mom has the same day in and out surgery.

Hang in there Redwitch. Gallbladder got had to be a piece of cake compared to child birth. Just so you're okay is all that matters to the rest of us. And yeah, what a helluva way to lose weight. ;D
