Is there any special process for extended storage of an electric golf cart? There may periods of several weeks or months when our cart may not be used. Thanks.

I have a 2008 ParCar and use to leave it plugged in all summer using the on board charger. I do have a friend checking them monthly and made sure the proper water level was maintained. This year I added the Battery Minder Maintainer-Desulfator after seeing it recommended on TOTV and talking to a few golfing buddies. Their website, 12v Battery Charger, Battery Desulfator, Battery Maintainer, Charger (http://www.Batteryminder.com) gives a convincing reasons for it. This unit will charge the batteries (under 12 miles, over that they recommend your carts charger) and maintain them with a 2 volt maintainer. Call Jerry Dillen, their sales rep here TV AT 352-205-0092, as he can explain the product. The batteries will use less water and that is especially good when left for months at a time!

Contact billnbrillo. Hands down, he knows how to store a cart better than anyone I know. While a good housewatcher will take your cart out for a ride as needed, his system of putting the cart on jacks with a batter minder is much better.

Another vote for BatteryMinders
Carts are fully charged whenever I return to TV, and water levels appear not to have dropped at all
Used them for two years so too early to assess whether or not they extend battery life

Battery Minder is the best for extended cart/battery storage. Have had one on since I installed my Trojan T875's two years ago and go away for 5-6 months leaving it plugged-in all the time. When I get back the battery's are fully charged and have been desulfated over the summer to-boot. My battery-bank voltage and condition are in Very Good condition when they had a voltage draw-down test.

Well, we ended up getting a gas cart when we were down in TV in early March setting up the new house. Got a great deal on a 2006 4 seater Club Car from Cart World. Turns out our house is pretty much rented through mid July, so the cart won't be sitting idle too much. We coming down to TV in July and I'll she how she's running.
