Has anyone used either of these companies and if so, how do you rate them? I am interested in their all inclusive services. Thanks.

Overall, I'd say they're pretty equal. A lot depends on the tech for your area. I know the Dean's tech for the Santiago/Santo Domingo area was pretty bad for awhile but I believe he was finally terminated. So, I'd recommend you go with whichever gives you the best deal. You might want to ask for Jim Hall at Massey's. He seems to be able to negotiate prices (tell him Dee says hello and I would love some more jelly donuts roflao).

May want to consider Fertigator.

Has anyone expierenced Massey inspecting your systems and contracting with a contractor to fix someting without consulting you or recommending a firm to fix the problem and not doing it themselves?? Have not had this problem but wanted to understand if it is an exposure that we should be aware of.

Had Massey the first year we were here - 2012 - believe we got a bad deal on their irrigation suggestion/repairs, thought they did a horrible job with our lawn, but had the best bug guy in town - he consistently brushed the eaves and house and we never, ever saw anything like a bug in our house. Unfortunately what they did to the lawn far out weighed the good the bug guy did so we switched to Bates for this past year. Not happy with their service either so we are looking at Deans next. It is frustrating cause all I want to do is give someone my money to provide the service they promise - but, easier said then done. Looking forward to some replies about Deans.

I have used Massey for insect control and lawn fertilization. So far they have done a very good job. They are a professional company. I am also going to have them do termite control. I have no experience with Dean's, but all my neighbors with the small Dean signs all over their front lawns seem to be happy with their service. I am not a fan of all these small, Dean's signs around the area. They have nothing to do with having done an application, but are instead, an advertisement. They give 10 percent off their service if a customer agrees to permanently display a sign in their front yard.

I have used Massey for the last year and a half. The bug and lawn service IMO are very good. They will come if you have any problem, usually within a day. Never had any problems with service.

We started with Scotts for the lawn, we had the nicest tech imaginable, but the lawn was awful and it never, ever got better, even after we replaced huge areas. So ................. called in Massey to just look at the lawn.

They came, sat and talked, and ended up giving us an excellent price for everything, inside bugs, outside bugs, irrigation, lawn - you name it, they do it all for us and I am more than pleased. I fought them over price, I am not an easy sell, but in my opinion they are good. Remember our ace in the hole is we are "on a fixed" income ...........

Have never used Bates or Deans so have no comment.

Dean's only puts signs in after the applications is done. It is not only done for advertisement but to warn PET owners an application has been completed. We all remove ours after a day or 2.

You stated about the 10 percent off for permanent display?? Never heard that in the 7 years we've been using them. Besides permanent display of anything is not allowed per your deed.

Massey leaves signage also ... guess that has nothing to do with advertising.

Drive through the neighborhoods south of 466A in Pinellas and you will see houses with these small signs with Dean advertising. They are about 1 foot by 1 foot and they are placed in the frontyard. They have been up at these houses for six months straight and they have nothing to do with an application and they are not taken down after two days. I was speaking to one of my neighbors and he got tired of having the sign in his very front yard and had put it by the shrubs around hs house where the sign would be partially hidden. He said he got a 10 per cent reduction for his Deans services. There are five houses near him with these Deans advertising signs. I use Massey's and the only sign they have are the little cardboard signs that are placed in a plastic holder after an application. The homeowner removes those after the application dries.

We use Dean's and are very happy.

I think our lawn and plants look better than most of my neighbors who use other companies.

We've used Massey for insect control, termite protection, lawn fertilization, and sprinkler system inspection and maintenance and I'm quite happy with everything they have done. In fact, their technicians have often gone above and beyond to give me good service. Guy actually watered some trees for me while I was away. Not saying they will all do that, but he did and I really appreciate it. All of their techs are knowledgeable, courteous, and thorough. I know nothing about Dean's, but they appear to be a popular company too.

We use Deans for termite inspection as they are half what we paid before and they have a working beagle that walks around the house with them first. We were also told by a southern lady that of all bug protection to keep it is termite inspection once a year.

I have to give a thumbs up for Massey. The techs seem very informed on my Zoyzia lawn and are very courteous. They keep my lawn looking one of the best on the street.

We use Massey for everything exempt irrigation and are very pleased with them (3 years so far). We didn't choose to use them for irrigation because it seems as though their surveys always find extensive work to be done; instead, my hubbie does that piece himself (having live in FL for over 40 years, he's used to working on sprinklers)

Dean's was one of the first, if not the first, lawn care company in The Villages. And they've been punctual and responsive. I highly recommend Aaron and Stuart.

We've used Deans since we bought our home - 2 years now. While I'm not always happy with a service, I call them and let them know. They are always responsive and, in the end, do a terrific job. I couldn't ask for more. We have them for pest control, termite protection, shrub and lawn pests/fertilization, etc.

I have used Massey and have not been happy with the lawn service. I think they are overpriced when they do not perform the services on a regular basis.

I am going to use my neighbor's guy so we all have our grass cut at the same time. Ron Lewis seems to do a good job with their yards.
