Help! Have just heard that one does NOT need extra sinkhole Ins. because if your house is swallowed up in a hole then your catastrophic insurance will cover the entire loss.
Any insurance agents out there that can shed some light on this subject?
What about partial damage?

Heard? Where golf course, bar, restaurant, rec center, from a friend?
Why not call your insurance agent?

The question is how do you tell if the damage is under the sink hole policy (with a high deductible) or the home owners policy. Also hard to get sink hole coverage.

When we bought last summer only one company would write sinkhole coverage in a homeowners policy. Check The Villages Insurance for information.

For your home to come under catastrophic ground cover collapse, your home would have to be declared uninhabitable by a county or state agency.
If you can live in it...ie just have cracks, you need sinkhole insurance which covers gradual cracking and separation. This is the expensive coverage with HIGH deductibles.
