Not getting into the electric vs. gas issue as we have already made up our minds. We are really leading toward The Village Golf for easy of access and service. I have also read that Carts & Clubs offers a perceived better value. Probably cant go wrong either place, just trying to see if it is worth it to go to Ocala.

Well worth the trip. We just bought a cart from carts ands clubs. They give you a 10 minute overview and point out the differences in their carts ands the villages carts - we thought it well worth it. From changing the wiring to a heavier gauge wire, extra snaps to keep the enclosure from flapping in the wind to a clear windshield where the window folds down. I'm sure there are more but I can't recall all of the differences. You ?can use Mark Schiffhauer as a reference ands if you do, we get a thank you gift. You'll be very happy you went.
I forgot the $25.00 restaurant gift certificate.

Carts and Clubs not only provides more value they come to your driveway to do tune ups and minor maintenance. Your cart is not gone for the day and they are great to work with.

Another vote for Carts and Clubs. On one occasion I saw them working on my neighbor's cart. I asked the tech a question about my own cart from them. I expected him to answer and tell me to set up an appt. for service. Instead, when he finished my neighbor's cart, he walked over and made the adjustment on mine. . . at no charge.
Lately, we had a problem with a noise when we drove. They came down and replaced the transmission to solve it. Because the cart was over a year old, there was supposed to be a service charge, but the tech told us it was Yamaha's problem, not ours, and tore up the bill.
They know customer service. Doing most repairs at your home instead of taking the cart for a few days and charging for pickup and delivery is a big advantage to me.

We just received our cart from Carts and Clubs. What a great experience working with Ted and his crew. The gentleman that delivered our cart (Jim) spent an hr. with us going over everything.
Couldn't ask for better service.

Had my cart for 3 months and can truthfully say. They are a pleasure to deal with and the product is outstanding. Love my cart.

I know nothing about Carts and Clubs except what I hear on this forum, but can tell you Villages Carts was charging $75. three years ago for a yearly service including pick-up and delivery and now charge $130. As soon as my warrenty expires I'm using Carts and Clubs.

Another vote for carts and clubs. All the "extras" are included in their price, and they have a lot that you can't get from the local crew. Upgraded wiring, Clear Window, and SEALED all the way around so no leaking air. Insulated under the seat to make it more quiet. Not to mention how great everyone is there. Let me know if you need a referral...they kick back some to whoever refers you! :)

Another vote for Carts & Clubs - great folks- they have a Villages cart on the floor to show you the higher quality you are getting with their cart. There service and delivery folks are great as well.

so indianavette - is the proof in the pudding or are you gonna fall for The Village hype??? That was a little snarky - sorry, but it just amazes me how many people think if they do business with someone associated with TVs they are getting the best thing since peanut butter. All the companies associated with TVs are good and reputable but probably not giving you the best return on your dollar. So you just need to decide if saying "I did business with The Villages ........ whatever" is more important than getting the best bang for your buck.

One more vote for Carts and Clubs. It is the same basic cart but they build a far superior cart. The best enclosure. We bought the perfect cart off the lot last November.

Seems like Carts & Clubs, has a great reputation amongst Villagers? Do they repair all models, or just certain ones?

Well, the responses are overwhelming for C&C. My concern was that Ocala is not exactly next door. Are there 2 different C&C locations in Ocala?

Is there any negotiations on Carts and Clubs "sticker price"?

Carts and Clubs is not far and well worth the drive - you only need to make the initial trip to choose your cart - then they come to you for service.
And yes, there is some negotiation going on.
The Villages.
I think some of the things Carts and Clubs do to their carts are nice but I also think it is basically insignificant and mostly done to set them apart in some way from The Villages Carts.
If Carts and Clubs was located in or closer to TV, I would think about buying from them more but honestly would still probably have bought from The Villages Carts. I'm more the guy that buys from the established, popular company that has been in business a long time and will stay in business a long time.

Carts and Clubs has a superior enclosure. Look at the back of the seat area - C&C encloses it. The windshield and top area is also sealed so very little rain gets in. A back window to keep air and water from coming in. A fuse box to make it easier to track down electrical problems. Insulation under the seat. They come to you for service. They're carts are just better.

The yellow pages shows 2 locations and I want to make sure I go to the correct dealer, does this address look correct?

Definitely Cart & Clubs. For all of the reasons previously stated plus! I even get a 15% discount at The Villages Carts and still chose Carts & Clubs without hesitation.

Carts and Clubs. Excellent service with no pressure to buy. Ted Dunlap was a pleasure to deal with. When cart was delivered, Jim patiently went over everything. It is actually quieter than our friends Yamaha golf car. Highly Recommend

We have not bought a cart yet, our home was just completed and we won't be full time until early summer.
But on our last trip there we decided to venture "all the way to Ocala" to visit Carts and Clubs. It is about a 15-20 minute drive. Just up 441 and we wanted to take a look at the surrounding businesses on the way. We were there in no time. It would take you more time to drive from Spanish Springs to Brownwood. Seriously folks it is not far at all!!
The gentleman who helped us, Jim as I recall, is a Village resident. It sounded as if most of their sales staff is also. They know their stuff too. They spent 20-30 minutes explaining the differences between TVGC store cart, which they have new, on the floor for comparisons, and their Yamaha product. Great thought has gone into the modifications they have made to their cart.
I am 4'11" tall (short) and wanted an adjustable steering wheel. They didn't have that except at a huge price jump. BUT, the have a Yamaha pedal box that slips over the pedal and makes driving much, much more comfortable. It gave me a 2-3" advantage. Obviously made for the Yamaha cart, fit like a glove and felt very safe. You pop it on and pop it off for the Hubby to drive. What a brilliant idea!
As I recall you can also get windshield wipers. And yes, their carts are so much quieter!!
We were quite impessed!
Later that trip we went into TVGC store and asked about the pedal block, they knew nothing about it. (it said Yamaha on it) They said they had never heard of that option and could not get it. Also, no windshield wipers. Hmmmmm.....
Our impression is the TVGC store is very nice, great selection, but sort of a one size fits all approach. No imagination or innovation to improve their cart since it sells like hot cakes already.
I see no reason to go back to TVGC store. If we go gas, it will be with Carts and Clubs. First class all the way and such attention to the details. They WANT your business and the previous posts in this thread, they want to KEEP your business with great service.
And folks, it is a very, very short drive to get there. (Lord help me if I am ever afraid to leave "the Campus")

Thank you for your post. When we did the preview I couldn't reach the gas pedal and thought I would never be able to drive one that we purchased, We're packing now to go to FL and will be looking for a cart. I now know there are options for me and know where to look for a cart with my shorter legs. My husband and I are a foot apart in height. It sound like we will be able to find a cart that will meet both of our needs.

OXBNana,
I'm glad you read my post! I was very impressed with their recognition that us shorties need some help! I seem to recall a back bolster too, but knew I could find something like that almost anywhere. So I did not make a mental note of it.
But the foot pedal box was such a great option!! It made all the difference in the world for me!!
Enjoy your time in TV!! Can't wait to go back permanently!!
