:cop: I HAVE BLUE UNDERBODY LIGHTS AND LICENSE PLATE FRAMES ON MY GOLF CART. ON THE WAY BACK HOME LAST NIGHT FROM THE SQUARE AT LAKE SUMTER, I WAS STOPPED BY A SUMTER COUNTY DEPUTY AND WAS TOLD THAT I COULD NOT DISPLAY ANY TYPE OF BLUE LIGHT WHILE DRIVING ON THE STREET. IT WOULD BE OK AT THE SQUARES WHEN PARKED, BUT NOT MOVING. TODAY I STOPPED BY THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE TO MAKE SURE. I WAS TOLD THAT YOU CANNOT DISPLAY ANY BLUE, (ON FRONT, REAR OR UNDERBODY) OR RED (UNDERBODY, OR ON FRONT) WHILE DRIVING ON THE STREET.
THE DEPUTY THAT STOPPED ME SAID THE FINE WOULD BE $79.00. (HE GAVE ME A VERBAL WARNING, NO TICKET) LUCKLY.

Hmmmmmm.
??? Does that mean you can use other colors? I know that other states prohibit any underbody lights but I thought Florida allowed underbody lights while driving. I knew it was OK while parked?

I ASKED THEM ABOUT PURPLE AND GREEN, SAID IT WOULD BE OK. SO I THINK I WILL CHANGE MINE TO PURPLE.

According to Wikipedia..... Electric golf carts have been used since at least 1951. Merle Williams of Long Beach, California was an early innovator of the electric golf cart. He started with knowledge gained from production of electric cars due to World War II gasoline rationing. In 1951 his Marketeer Company began production of an electric golf car in Redlands, California. Two additional companies began production of electric golf carts in 1954: LEKTRO and E-Z-GO. Cushman began production in 1955, Club Car in 1958, Taylor-Dunn in 1961, and Harley-Davidson in 1963.

Thanks for the information. 784caroline. Wonder if some golf pros have really fancy carts that you see when they are on tour. Taking one of those everywhere they tour would get expensive? Someone like Tiger Woods could afford it, but the less successful golf pros?

We will be in the Christmas Parade on the 8th. I think that are about 33 karts signed up for the parade. There is about 150 Yesteryears in the villages now. There are only 2 Yesteryear's that have been lifted, mine and one that is yellow and red that I installed the lift on.
Have great day.
