There definitely is and last I heard membership was by a waiting list. Very popular apparently. Depending on the type of vehicle you have you may find a club specific to your car.

Membership was frozen as of 1/1/14 at over 500. Meeting room size and just the number of members seemed to be the problem. My understanding is that they will open membership each year to replace non-renewals. Membership this year is $20 per couple. It is a very active club with several events and activities planned each month.
To get on the waiting list contact Barb Claussen, treasurer and membership chair, at www.barbc7322@yahoo.com (http://www.barbc7322@yahoo.com)

If you happen to have a Miata, I know the president of the Miata Club. He just started it last year, so I doubt if it is full yet.

We were members but the club was too large and had limited numbers for the events. We were only able to participate in two events during the year so we dropped out. They had great trips but with such a large membership it became unmanageable.

There are also several car based clubs; vettes, Mini Cooper, Sebring, to name a few. The Daily Sun runs a listing of all the car clubs and the club contacts each week in their "automotive section" either Fri or Sat.

Nice group of people that meet 2nd Thursday of the month at Pimlico Center at 7 p.m. Meetings are short and used to plan up coming trips which are usually once a month.

I hope I get the website correct...if not message me.

Hope to see you there.

The Convertible Club membership is currently closed because we doubled our membership last year and could not keep up. If you would like to get on the wait list, please send an email to Jan Brown, our secretary at vccjanbrown@gmail.com. (Do not send it to Barb Claussen as mentioned in a previous post).

We are working to implement a new system that will drastically reduce the administrative work of the club and we hope to have it running smoothly by summer or fall and that, plus scheduling duplicate trips will help us to manage the club in a way that all members can enjoy it.

Hey don't bash the mustang club. A lot of people that belong don't like to drive their cars for a long distance drive. They have a lot of classics and only want to drive locally. We are going to Daytona speedway to take our cars on the track. Does any other car club do that? We travel all over Florida with our cars. We have a lot of fun with this club.

I'd join a "convertible club 2" if someone else was willing to organize it
:-) Our '98 MB SLK just turned 50,000miles and could use a few short road trips!

We were instructed to send a check and paid for membership in the Convertible Club last October. Check cleared and we never heard anything from anybody about events. I understand that you are now limiting membership, but since we already paid, I think we should be included in whatever is offered. Will someone please contact us to let us know what is going on? Talk of The Villages has nothing to do with the Convertible Club. Look up the number in the Recreation Magazine that is in each Thursdays paper or at any regional Rec center. Call an officer of the Convertible Club.
