I used this service for selling my home. I was sent two real estate agents to choose from. Most often we use a friend or a friend of a friend without knowing too much about their success rate. The Villages has a program that finds the top agents for you in your area. I understand The Villages checks in with the agents every week to assure they are doing everything they can to sell the home. I wouldn't know about that as my home sold to the first person who looked at it,
We didn't use them for moving The moving companies associated with The Villages come out and look at what you are going to move and give you a guaranteed price. Another company came in and told us they would beat the lowest price. They quoted lower than the low price with the villages movers. When our furniture got here... They charged us $800 more for weight.
If I had it to do over again... I would have said with the relocation service. I don't think that would have happened.
I asked this same question when we were thinking about moving. If you do a search, you might be able to find it. I received a lot of positive responses.

We chose not to use The Village relocation service. They tell you WHO is the top producing realtors in your area and then get a share of their commission at the end. . There are other perks, discount on movers etc., we didn't use and didn't need and felt we didn't need to be told WHO to choose and use.
We didn't want to have our agent have to share the income he/she made off the sale with someone for doing very little. So we simply chose our realtor, our plan of moving furniture etc. and did not chose to avail ourselves of their services.

Mrs. Buggy and I used them for both realtor and moving company. We interviewed three realtors that were recommended and had a contract to sell in 8 days at our price.
The moving company was excellent and even gave us lots of free boxes and wardrobe containers.

We used them ten years ago and really have nothing bad to say about the services rendered. I wasn't really tickled w/ our realtor back home, but I'm sure that was partly my fault. The relo people took care of things with which we were not familiar since we had moved only a couple times.

We used the relocation services for selling our house in michigan, last year. They gave us 3 names, and we picked the one we thought was the best. Selling a home in Michigan last April was tough, but ours sold in the first day of listing, and the Agent was excellent. She kept on the sale to hurry everything along for us. From the listing to the closing took 7 weeks. (FHA).
We left the day we closed. I highly recommend their services.

Thanks for the replies. So far we are impressed with the relocation service and the response from sales agent. A lady came by today and she is one of the top ten agents in the state of Michigan. She came well prepared with a market analysis and a booklet filled with information for us to keep.
She suggested we list the house May1st, and suspects the house will sell quickly due to the excellent condition. Looks like I may arrive sooner than expected and my husband is going to be homeless until November. He will be bouncing around the kids homes and his brothers.
Another real estate agent will be here Thursday and we will make the decision which one to use. Very exciting and the best part is it will be listed at a higher price than we expected. We are taking a hit but not as bad as we thought.

The Villages collects 25% of the commission you are paying the local realtor and they do not pay any referral fees to that same agent if he recommended a Villages agent. Works for them!
Let the agent up home keep his commission and interview your own agent. The Villages is already making enough. Yes I am a Realtor who has paid that fee for them to do nothing. I understand no one make me take the appointment.

We used the Villages relocation service for moving. We didn't plan to bring much furniture (moving from a big house to a villa), but we had boxes & boxes of household items we couldn't live without. We received an estimate for a POD, and then called the Villages relocation service. They recommended 3 movers for us to choose from. The movers we chose cost almost $1,000 less than the POD, plus they loaded and unloaded everything! We were very pleased with them.

jmac we chose to use the relocation service because we knew they would get the job done. Our lives are extremely busy and this is the quickest and easiest way for us at this time.
We were impressed when we bought our home in TV and the closing department. We closed by mail and everything was handled in a professional timely matter with no glitches. We feel we will have the same experience with the relocation service and we want the best real estate agent.
As for the commission given up by the real estate agent, well that is their option and I do not feel guilty for the decision we made.

I had already bought here and then used the Villages Relocation Service to sell my home in Arlington Heights, IL. They picked the two top realtors and their agents to be interviewed. Both were excellent, and it was a tough choice. The house was staged by a professional as part of the agreement, and then the open houses began. On a weekly basis the agent submitted a progress report to the Relocation Service. I remember the agent asking "Who is The Villages?" The bottom line is that the home sold quickly which was pretty remarkable since it was 2009. Three moving companies bid, and the one chosen did an excellent job at a corporate rate.
Needless to say that a stressful situation was made much easier, and I can look back with no regrets.

The service recommended 2 realtors 3 years before we finally sold. They were both good but we decided not to sell at that time. Three years later we picked our own realtor and sold our home. The Villages wanted their cut from our realtor. They were watching my house for 3 years waiting to cash in. Through a little back and forth they finally stopped nagging the company that sold my home. I don't trust them!
