Spring is in the air and it is time for planting flowers. I found a place outside the villages that sells a large selection of flowers at a great price of $1.00. They hire handicap adults to help them support themselves. I think it is so nice that they do that!!

Go North on 441 towards Ocala. At the split where the sheriff station turn right onto SE 80th, go a little ways and it will be on the right side.
.
I enclosed pics to show that they have real nice flowers.

Thank you MLBellis. I am ready to start sprucing up my yard for spring and I will try to go to Kenny's Nursery and see what they have. I had never heard of this place until you posted your recommendation.

I looked up their website and this is what they say about their business: Kenny’s Place of Marion County, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt corporation approved by the IRS for the purpose of enabling the mentally challenged adult residents of Marion County and the surrounding communities an opportunity to participate in learning and recreational experiences. Kenny’s Place Nursery was established in 1993.

Kenny’s Place Nursery has the unique opportunity to offer its Trainees the hands-on experiences of assisting in the growing and caring for nursery plants, offering them for public sale, and interacting with the public at large. The program has challenged every individual regardless of his or her ability to participate, giving them each a sense of accomplishment and pride, raised their self-esteem and nurtured the souls of all.

Kenny’s Place was generously funded by its donators for its operation and continues to be the recipient of their generosity. In addition, plant sales, barbecues, and raffles are held to help defray operating costs. Fourteen mentally disadvantaged individuals enjoy the activities, along with the Director and Assistant Director.
