I plan on moving soon to a warm climate near lots of golf courses. I am interested in joining one or more groups of golfers that play regularly, several times a week. In addition to playing with a regular group, I'd like to play in a variety of tournaments (scrambles, two-man, gross/net stroke matches) or in a league.

Would I find this at the Villages?

The simple answer is - yes. There are lots of groups of male golfers that go out on different days, within the Villages, and groups that travel outside The Villages. There are a lot of tournaments going on, and there is an organized Men's day once a week at the various courses that are sent up as mini-tournaments - 2 person best ball, scramble, low net, low gross, etc.

You can't even begin to imagine the opportunities for golf in The Villages.

I think you would be hard pressed to find all your requirements anywhere else but The Villages.

Thank you all for feedback. Sounds like what I'm looking for.

Are annual/seasonal rates or all-you-can-play packages available?

There are a few tourneys run by the villages but most cash games are run by the residents. If you are looking for courses in very good condition then you're better off playing in the FSGA events. The condition of the villages courses are mediocre at best.

So the best course in the Villages is mediocre? Which one is it?

In my opinion, most of the courses aren't mediocre. I think the courses, for the most part are in nice condition. You may find a hole two on each course that needs work, but for the amount of courses in The Villages the courses are kept pretty well. We are very lucky to have such a variety of courses to play.
