is anybody else being haunted by this pop up while on TOTV:

Codec Performer | Free Download (http://www.playhe.com/lp/codecperformer/v18/?v=18&cid=4105&tid=nym1CPTtleuTnO-lchACGJOJou_6wsW9SiINMTc0LjU4LjIxMC4zOSgBMN39iJkF&pubid=2296133)

It comes up almost every single page change while visiting TOTV and only on TOTV.

Just started yesterday and today it is far, FAR beyond annoying.

Is there a way to block a site like this?

This is Malware and you need to remove it.

The “Please Install Codec Performer Update” pop-ups happens regardless of the web browser or search engine, and if you are seeing this ad whenever you are doing a Google search or visiting a website, then your computer may be infected with adware or a potentially unwanted program.
This infection is designed specifically to make money. It generates web traffic, collects sales leads for other dubious sites, and will display advertisements and sponsored links within your web browser.

Go to this website to learn how to remove the malware:

Not happening to me either. But I'm not going to click on the link, for fear that I'll be downloading something that I don't want. Thanks but no thanks. Hope you get rid of it.

I had this happen last year. I found out it was this annoying site that installed itself on my computer. I got rid of it and never had another problem.
It's problem something that you have on your computer.

We aren't running any pop ups on the site. We also have not had other reports of this so it is likely as suggested malware.

I did use the link provided. It was not a program or malware on the computer.
It was somehow in the Firefox browser and a simple Firefox reset, per the link supplied, eliminated the problem.
Thanx to all.

My computer was getting some popups and I did a complete scan and restored it to an earlier time. It was a Trojan and another evil bug.

Nope. However, does anyone have a clue to what this means?
"Tapatalk detected. Is undefined."

It's very annoying and pops up constantly , only on TOTV, so much so, I have ceased to go to the site as often as previously.

It asks you if you want to cease looking at script on "this page".
I'm not looking at the moment, but it's "Yes", "NO" or click the "x" at the top. I've tried all three to no avail. It just keeps popping back up, making the posts beneath it unreadable.........it's like blocking the posts.

I've never heard of TAPATALK before. Anyone have a clue? Thanks in advance.

p.s. I 've restored my computer to earlier times (several times already), and done everything else I can think of. Can't get rid of tapatalk comment.

I have seen a tapatalk app on my phone.
You have something that has downloaded itself on your computer.
Click on your computer where you can uninstall a program and look at the list. You might be able to find something there and you can uninstall it.

[QUOTE=Indydealmaker;847454]Here is a website about Tapatalk

Thank you. My pop up looks like this:
Yellow triangle thingie. An error has occurred in the script of this page.
Line 147
Char 1
Error Tapatalk Detect is undefined
URL ://wwwtalk of the villages.com/forums/newreply.php.do=newreply=847454
Do you want to continue running scripts on this page. Yes No
************************************************** *****
I read the information on the link you sent to me:
See below:

It only pops up on TALK OF THE VILLAGES FORUM

I do not use an I-Pad (although we have two of them).
I do not use an I-Phone (we do have one)
I only use my less than one year old computer.

I never downloaded an APP for tapatalk. It is confusing.
Just wondering if anyone else had this problem in trying to read TOTV.
Many thanks for your input.

I do believe it's coming from TOTV. I've copied and pasted what the info says below.........

With million of Tapatalk users, your forum can be discovered by potential new members through Tapatalk Network and our ranking and recommendation system.

Q: Will I lose revenue from traditional PC web?
A: Tapatalk app is an optional service to your members - it drives more engagement and participation to your forum as people are now easier to post new content on-the-go. In terms of monetization, we have Link Affiliation (Powered by VigLink) and PostRelease (Sponsored topic) to help you earn extra revenue.

Q: Can I insert my AdSense code?
A: Currently it is not supported and here is why (http://support.tapatalk.com/threads/an-open-message-to-the-tapatalk-developers.15374/page-2#post-78888).

P.S. Since I do NOT own a forum, I have to assume this "pop up" which is extremely annoying and confusing, is coming from TOTV. Again, I have never downloaded an app for Tapatalk. How can I get rid of it? I've looked under all of my programs and everything else on this computer, to no avail. Cannot see anything even closely resembling what might be a "FORUM" APP called tapatalk. Thanks for any input which would be greatly appreciated.
Please refer to above email and one prior to it.

Call John Chumbler. He is an ace on the computer and I'm sure he will be able to find something that has downloaded on your computer that he can get rid of.
He's a great guy and a computer Guru.
Just call him and ask him about it, then decide if you want him to come and take care of it.
His prices are very reasonable and he's done a lot of computer stuff for a lot of us Parrot Heads !! 352-205-2032

Early morning here....
It only happens when I come onto T.O.T.V.
This morning, now, Vbulletin message in the "green banner" it said:
"Could not find phrase invalid__retired__url__x"

The pop up said the same thing I've mentioned in earlier posts.

From the research I've done, it originates with FORUMS.

Other than that, I do not have a clue. It's an annoying pop up that keeps overlapping itself and is difficult to get rid of. The more I click on the various "yes", "no" or "x" the more it seems to replicate itself.

P.S. I just re read my earlier posts (from yesterday), in particular the explanation of what tapatalk is.
It says it is used by FORUM OWNERS. Since I am not a forum owner, I have to assume it is T.O.T.V. I hope they can do something about this annoying pop up. It would be greatly appreciated.

My wife was having the same problems and I "think" I got it fixed. She has a new computer running Win 8.1 and she usually signs on using Chrome. I did a Google search about pop-ups using Win 8.1 on Chrome. I got instructions on how to fix it. Hopefully, she won't have any more problems.

I've been using Firefox Browser for several years and on their website they have many add-ons. I've used adblock-plus (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/) since the beginning and I can't remember the last time I saw a popup.
