View Full Version : The village news - name requirement

I find it sad they now require full names for any comments on that board. There are some folks on there that are not carrying a full deck. I had one person call me out about it so I googled him. In 15 seconds I had his name address and phone number. We need to be very careful about protecting our identities as passions are easily aroused and we don't need to be victims. Common sense please. Especially if your thoughts about a given topic "goes against the grain". Be safe!

This country was built by those not afraid to speak out against wrongs. Life is way too short not to have the courage of your convictions.

A man must stand for something or he will fall for anything.

The former owners of this website told me that members should never, ever use a real name, or give addresses, telephone numbers, etc. I think that is good advice.
It doesn't mean people don't have the courage of their convictions. It's just a security precaution in today's nutty online world.

PMing you.
Is there a reason you aren't posting the website address instead of sending a private message to someone?

There is truth in what you say. But we know WHO you are by your posts. You are a warm, caring person who loves animals and makes friends on this forum who she meets in person.
You don't call yourself Barefoot and use your anonymity to be negative and unkind and vicious.
I admire Steve Massey and I admire Bogie Shooter although they have differing views on this subject. I don't admire the ones who are always mean, always inflaming and use their anonymity not to protect their identity but to protect their agenda.

No, I had posted but, after further review, I thought it was too snarky.

The web site will appear garbled when posted in a post, however, it will do the same on a PM.
