Of course you'd move into a Patty O'villa.

There is a street in Syracuse on Tippeary Hill where the stop light is designed with the green at the top and the red at the bottom. At that intersection sits a store to the left with many very beautiful Irish items, sweaters, crystal etc. Across the street is Coleman's Bar. Its entrance green painted door with tiffany glass and to the right of that entrance a smaller replicate if its entrance for leprechauns . Go by first thing in the morning on St. Paddy's day and you will see a line a long way down the block.

My daughter married an Irishman. The Irish (about 75 of them) traveled to our home town to attend the wedding. full of life ,love and laughter they took over the dance floor, the town and left their mark. I found them to be very endearing and very enjoyable.

Happy St Patrick's s may the wind be at your back and the sun shine on your face

Totally agree about the Irish ethnicity........wonderful folks.

All five of our grandchildren (our daughter's and our son's children) are half Irish and half German on our son in law's and our daughter in law's side. All delightful.

Of course, we must give some credit to the genes they carry from the Italian/French/Greek; Ukrainian; Polish/Ruthenian side as well........they seemed to have inherited the strengths of all these ethnic backgrounds.

My Irish/Scottish stepdad was also a charmer and a wonderful, good natured, fun loving man. Wish he were back in our lives, but every life must end. He never said an unkind word about anyone.

He was always there to help the downtrodden or the elderly.....or anyone at his church that needed helping. He did a wonderful impersonation of the Irish/Scottish brogue........and could tell some heartfelt stories of growing up with all of his siblings in Jersey City, New Jersey.........having to help his widowed mom, by collecting coal for the stove (from the railroad tracks). These oldtimers didn't play golf or tennis or have the luxuries we all enjoy, but they sure remembered their ROOTS. He had a heart of gold. We were just chatting about him the other evening. For a stepdad, he was more like a real father to both of us......as he was to his own four children. May Luke rest in peace.
