I notice that the Marion County Sheriff's department often escorts the car that refills the money machines for Citizens First Bank. (The one owned by The Villages). I fully understand the reason for the escort.
My question is, do the taxpayers pay for that escort service, or does the bank pay a fee? If the taxpayers are paying for it, I wonder:
A. If the other banks get the same service?
B. Are they pulling the cars off of patrol to do the escort?
C. Do all business get the same service. (I guess that's why the armored car services are in business.)
If the bank is paying the fee, are they pulling the cars off patrol to escort?
This bank and all banks are "for profit" organizations. I certainly hope they are paying a special fee for the service and that "off duty" deputies are on that particular detail.
