I always like to keep a spare full propane tank, but am concerned about high temperatures in garage during the summer. Does anyone store full tanks here?

I always keep a spare tank in my garage. No problems...

yes. The temperature in the garage is not going to be any higher than the temperature in and around the grille.
And in no way will the tank in the garage ever be exposed to an open flame as it does when in use on the grille.
That is my opinion and have had spare propane in the garage and on the patio for 40 years.

The tanks are relatively safe even in a fire, garage temps are not a problem.

As long as there are no leaks you should be OK

A full propane tank is only 80% full by law. The other 20% is for expansion.

You would need at least 300 degrees to be concerned about explosion do to heat. They are more likely to explode due to high impact like falling out of an moving vehicle at high speed on impact in a collision.

If you have gas heat or a gas water heater I would not suggest putting propane in the garage.
