A friend of mine showed me some magnifying reader eyeglasses she bought that have little tiny flashlights built into the temples. So now, she can read at night in bed! I was so thrilled I immediately went to Walgreens on my way home and bought a pair. I am so excited. I can't wait until bedtime to try them out. Does getting this excited about a pair of magnifiers I can use to read in bed mean that I'm getting old?

I think it means you like to read in bed, but getting excited can happen to anyone at any age. I assume you don't want to turn on a lamp because you don't want to wake your spouse. Is that it?

What kind of batteries do you need for these glasses and how long would you expect them to last?

It takes four of those little flat, round lithium 3 V batteries. I don't know how long the batteries will last. I guess they'll last a long time. My husband said they'll last forever because I'm asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow and he'll turn them off for me. LOL

Nothing wrong with getting old - I am finding it to be the best time of my life! But I think getting excited about those glasses simply means you are smart enough to embrace a "creature comfort". Enjoy you reading - I just replace my old Kindle with one that has a light so I can read in bed with no lights on and am happy as a pig in s_ _t!!!!

I lead a simple life...

I do not often post my picture online, but I had this which I had sent to a friend that gave the glasses for a Christmas gift. Pretty cool idea for many things I need glasses for....

I sent a photo of myself, a selfie I think they call it, to my sister today. I had to text her and tell her about the glasses. I think they are so cool and didn't want to keep it to myself. Thanks for sharing ajbrown. They are really cool.

The clearer farsightedness the lesser near sightedness and the reverse.
"There is nothing wrong with getting old being ....the best part of my life"
Since I didn't have a choice I will roll with it but as to being the best part of my life, I think not but then being emersed in the moment does have merit

Hey, I could use these to find my way to the bathroom in the middle of the night without tripping over the dog.

Loved your husband's comment! I have a little light that attaches to my Kindle. My husband turns it off when I fall asleep, but that's usually because it ends up shining in his face.

No. It just means that you enjoy reading yourself to sleep.
The Kindle has a built in light. You wouldn't have to wear the head gear.
We are all getting older.........day by day. What's the alternative?
Happy reading.......

The only thing that excites me in bed is when I turn the
pillow over to the cool side.....:bigbow::a040::MOJE_whot::1rotfl:

darling BK, I just found this funny and heartwarming post. Why didn't you tell me? I've been wearing a miner's headlamp along with my readers far too long.
