What motive could there be for pilots to take the plane there?

No mention has been made of interviewing the pilots estranged wife and his children. Nor the fiancé of the copilot. It seems they would have some clue as to their motives.
You are right Kitty, it makes no sense and hasn't made sense from the beginning. It seems the product of a deranged mind but two in cahoots? I join the world in not understanding.

I am hopeful that this is indeed debris from the missing plane. I cannot imagine what it would be like to have my other half get onto a plane that just disappears, I "think" I would rather know what happened than wait and wait day after day.

Doesn't anyone else think it's highly suspicious that the pilot attended the sentencing of a government opposition leader in Malaysia just hours before the flight? And that he was known to be politically active (PBS used the term "obsessive") and a vocal opponent of the current Malaysian government?

I have travelled to that part of the world many times for business. I consider myself lucky that the only inconvenience were consistent delays in Mumbai and completely sold out flights on Chinese airlines - making them extremely crowded, with foreigners in the back!! I can't imagine having to go through what the passengers on this lost flight went through!!
