Some wars seem necessary, many do not. World War II sure looks like it was necessary after hearing about all the atrocities committed against those of the Jewish faith and many other groups of people the powers that be in the Axis labelled as sub-human according to their ideas of developing a "Master Race".
The war against terrorism seems very necessary even if it does not seem like getting rid of Saddam Hussein had much to do with curbing terrorism. Bin Laden is another story but he is also another country.

I hear ya Tal, but if all people of all nations would realize that fighting and killing is a futile solution, this would be "a wonderful world" (great movie wasant it?) just my opinion, I realize the other side to all of this also. dont get a whole lot of satisfaction debating it.

Boy Nonie, I'm with you. I don't get much satisfaction from debating it either. The toll this war is taking is heart breaking -- and not all of it is counted. A young cousin of ours committed suicide recently -- PTSD and just couldn't go on. And a young man I see at the store all the time missing the lower half of his leg. Makes me sick. Makes me angry. Makes me cry.

And while you recall these terrible things, don't forget the 3000 American civilians that were murdered in NYC on 9/11. Wars are all bad, but until all the people that teach their children to hate us and strive to kill you and me change, they are a necessary evil. We are still the home of the free because of the brave.
