Mary and I just returned from seeing the opening night of the middle school's production of "Annie." W o W !!! :-)
We saw the play advertised in The Sun a couple days ago and decided to see it, and watch all the youngsters take a shot at acting and singing.
Lordy was I WRONG. These kids are Great!
They really put their heart into the play. The stagecraft was excellent, the acting and singing was super, and the audience was enthralled. There was an on-stage energy I hadn't seen in a long time. We think these young people really Enjoy what they're doing; and they do it very well. Don't even think amateurish; these folks are Good! (...No, I don't have any kids/grandchildren in the production but I'm ready to adopt a couple of them...]).
The play will run for one more night (Saturday, March 22nd). Tickets ($7/adults) go on sale at the Middle School Gym at 6:00PM, doors open at 6:30PM. Get there early to get a good seat.
