Zane is the guy who called 911 when the burglary was in progress. I have been in touch with him on Facebook and he gave me his address for those that expressed interest in making a donation. He said to thank everyone and is appreciative. He is a fine young man and loves the community.

I do not want to post his address on the forum so PM me if you want his address. I will be sending a card tomorrow.

What a relief the crooks are caught! Yeah for Zane!

I am not so comfortable with monetarily compensating someone for being alert and doing the right thing. Shouldn't an "atta boy" be enough?

If that's how you feel its okay. There are some who expressed an interest in donating and that is okay too.

I'm quite comfortable ... this kid did the right thing and I am very happy to send him $10. If a number of Villagers do likewise, it punctuates our gratitude and amplifies the atta boy.

This young man was under no obligation to notify the police of suspicious activity. That he made a second call makes him even more worthy of appreciation.

I think a contribution toward a cash "thank you" is appropriate. I'll send you a PM for the information.

Carl

Please be careful in passing along this young man's address even in a PM. Those guys who got caught may not be happy with him and may want revenge. The posters on here are not just Villagers. Anyone can get on TOTV

Not to worry no one will be getting his address unless its a name I recognized from this forum. I've been on here over 4 years and know the regular names.

Thank you for that extra measure of security. I would hate to see a good deed go awry

Tippyclubb, would you mind if we sent out donations to you and you could present it to Zane after the appropriate time has passed? (I would assume that all those that intend on donating would do so within a week or so.)

Thanks so much

An easy way to show appreciation is by sending a gift through Facebook.

What did you give to the guy that turned in the "bicycle bandit"?
