I am looking for recommendations for a good women's outdoor court shoe for Pickle ball. I suffer from Achilles tendonosis and have been able to play 4 times a week indoors wearing K-Swiss court shoes and heel lift inserts with no problem. But with warmer weather on the future horizon in my area, I'm looking for a new pair of shoes with good stability, and perhaps lighter than the K-Swiss, that would be good for my Achilles tendonosis. With all the Pickle ball in the Villages, you guys are the experts! Anyone else feel my pain?

When I was looking I could only find court shoes at two places. The tennis club at Glenview Golf Course and Bealls Department Store, mainly the 441 location. Glenview only carried the K-Swiss and were around $57. Bealls had both K-Swiss and Nike and were $50 & $55 respectively. I went with the Nike because they were a lower profile. When I had one of each foot the K-Swiss were about an inch taller, which felt less stable to me and had a greater chance to roll your ankle. Also, before buying I went to the Bealls website and found a $13 coupon, so I ended up only playing $42 for the Nike's.

Consult either Dr. Johnny Wu or Dr. Estuary.

Unfortunately, I am not in the Villages. My Dr. has recommended K-Swiss because there is more room in the toebox, but as the previous poster pointed out it has a high profile. I have never rolled my ankle, but I would like a lighter shoe.
I will have to order online, so I guess it makes sense to order from someplace that offers free returns.

Thanks for the info. I'll checkout them out online.

An ankle brace probably should be worn no matter shoe you buy. When you tear your Achilles, it is a very long time in a boot and off the court. You might not be able to play outside as many as 4 days a week. Be careful.

I will heed your warning and go slow. I have never played outdoors, so I do expect a different experience, as in the harder surface. I will ease into it an see how I do.

p.s. Not to minimize your pain, but it has been a brutal winter in your neck of the woods and ours; it seems that everyone and their uncle is suffering from either plantar fasciitis or Achilles tendonitis this winter.....aggravated by the prolonged cold and deep freeze.

I have lots of the Orthoheel shoes and love them. I also use their orthotics in my current pair of K-Swiss court shoes. I'm just not sure that walking/running shoes are good for court sports. They typically do not allow for the side to side motion that is necessary. I wish they made a pair specific for tennis or any court shoe.
