Question About Bar Stools

I see lots of posts for bar stools but I have a (probably stupid) question.

Assuming I want bar stools facing a standard TV (Begonia) kitchen counter top from outside the kitchen what is the proper height from the floor to the seat? Yes, I want backs on the stools, but the overall height would seem to be much less important.

Not a stupid question at all!
We have a Sunkissed with an one level island. The island's height is 36 inches. Our bar stool height is 24 inches. If your island is higher (two tiered) measure the height and subtract 12 inches for the height for your stool.

We have a 2-tier bar in our CYV. The bar height is 42" on the outside. The stools are 46" to the top of the back, and 29" to the top of the seat.

John, I think you have it. 29-30" looks about right.

For the Begonia, you would want seats which measure 29-30 inches. The 24 inch seats will be way to low for your kitchen area. Best wishes. Good luck.


PS, there are no stupid questions. In our first home we had 24 inch bar stools and I thought I could bring the to our 2nd, but I was wrong.

Stools come in 24 or 30. We have the Gardenia and we have the 30's.
