I am wanting to install a Vortex filter on the main waterline coming into the CYV but can only see a pipe coming into the garage by the HWT that goes to the HWT and I am wondering if all water goes through the tank before going to the various water outlets in the house. Does anyone with a whole house system have theirs hooked up just before it flows into the hot water tank? Any ideas are appreciated.

There should be a panel, about 8"x8" somewhere in the garage low on the wall-1'to 2' off the floor with a red handled plastic valve which is the main shutoff for the incoming water line.

In our CYV our main is between the 2 garage windows about 6 inches off the floor behind a plastic plate.

The pipe that comes from outside has a red turning knob but there is no 8x8 panel and it goes directly to the hot water tank. I went around the exterior wall of the garage and can't see any other pipe coming in. Does this make any sense to anyone?

In my CYV, the main cut-off valve is outside the house. It's a few feet in front of the garage windows, in a box on the ground between the hedges.

Thanks all. I think there is a box outside between the garage windows but it would be a challenge to install the filter there. I think I will go with a kitchen faucet model which will be easier and portable. Thanks again

What you're trying to do requires cutting into the water main in the garage, do NOT do it by the HWH.
The other choice under the sink isn't going to do much.
Search Nova filters here.

Look again in your garage .... the water supply line (with an inline shutoff valve) will be inside an outside wall, behind a small while panel ... it is there.
