Microsoft to give Windows away for phones, small tablets

Smart move IMO.

IDG News Service (Miami Bureau) — Hardware vendors making smartphones and tablets with screens smaller than 9 inches will get Windows for free, the latest aggressive move by Microsoft to increase the use of its OS on those devices.

Yes - this was a necessary move for them. Their competition in comparison to Google and especially Apple is pretty sad. We never get any Windows phone love around the office! Or perhaps that has to do with the fact that Windows phones are Nokias, and we all know how indestructible those are.
