In The Daily Sun I read that all golf courses would be closed on December 25th.

However, Amelia Golf Course was open all day. Does anyone know if there was a mis-
print in the newspaper?

Just Curious.

Jan,

All courses were open and ALL (champ and exec) were free....on a first come, first served basis. They were not taking any advance reservations...so, you just show up, take your turn, and play.

I heard the champ courses were heavily attended...rode by a couple of execs that day and did not see much of a queue.

A once a year freebie....

We played nine holes on Havana on Christmas day. Had a ball, it was free, and it took us just 3 1/2 hours. After playing 4 holes I felt that I had played nine. Still a great way to spend the day. Finished the day with a great dinner.

Note to self: Stay off golf courses on Christmas day free golf!

A 7 hour round? Free is TOO much.

I thought the Villages Christmas tradition of free golf is great. My wife and I played Lopez and only had to wait for about 3 ro 4 groups in front of us. We teed off around 11 AM and had a fairly normal pace of play. I know Palmers usually has the longest wait because that is the most expensive and people are generally out to get the most for their money, even if they have to wait a long time.
