Which pharmacy in the Villages area has the best service? By service, I mean no long waits to pick up a prescription, almost never out of stock, and just easy to do business with.

I'm a big fan of Medicine Chest in LSL. Small town pharmacy where you can talk to the pharmacist and they take the time to look for generics to save you money. Downside - small town pharmacy that may not carry everything you need but you can call ahead to see if what you need is in stock.

No long waits is easy no matter which pharmacy...go at 6 PM!

I'd stay away from the CVS on 441/27 at Avenida Central. I'm going to transferring all my prescriptions from there. They always have long waits. The people behind the counter always seem flustered and overworked. The people at the front registers are usually away from the register when there are no customers so you walk up to the register and have to yell to get someone up there.
Big businesses simply don't care about the customer anymore. They are constantly cutting corners and neglecting the customers. The only way that they are going to change is if they start losing business. The difficulty is that they are almost all doing the same thing today so you really don't have an alternative.

I like Publix in Colony. I call my prescriptions into their automated service in the evening and they are ready for me to pick them up early the next day. Their staff is also very much on the ball. I was prescribed a drug in December and the pharmacist picked up that I could be allergic to it, due to another medicine which was listed on my chart that I had a bad reaction to. She called me after my doctors office sent in the script and I immediately called the doctors office which prescribed it, and got it changed.
I don't believe I have ever waited more than a few minutes.

We use Sweet bay in Pinellas Plaza. Always friendly, never crowded and usually RX is ready in 10-15 min. Don't know how it will be when Winn Dixie takes over.

after getting the initial prescription filled at Colony Walgreens, I use online re-order and have the refills to be mailed to me. No waiting, always in stock....

I prefer online ordering from Express Scripts. But if I have to go the brick and mortar pharmacy I vote for the Walgreen's in Mulberry.
Unfortunately no matter when I go, the one on front of me has a series of questions or a problem with their medicine card and it takes forever!!!

I use to use the Medicine Chest but the electronic doors opening and shutting every time caused me panic attacks. I was there for the very meds needed to control them. Now I go to Sweetbay next door and and we're treated great!
Not sure if Winn Dixie is going to wreck that . Pray no.

I agree with you. Only problem is my Insurance has a contract with CVS. I would never go there by choice.

Publix is great and they give free generic antibiotics and other medications for both people and animals. Love them and would give them my business if my Insurance allowed it.
