Where can my wife find locally, a Kentucky derby style hat ? She is hoping a store in the Villages might have something that will do th trick.

Hi Warren!

As you can imagine, here in Louisville Derby is HUGE and hats can be found everywhere. However, I doubt you'll be able to find anything locally.

My advice is to do what some do here and make your own. We find a plain brimmed hat that we like (and, of course, will match our outfit!) and go to a craft store like Michael's to buy silk flowers, ribbons, and fabric or even feathers. A little imagination and a glue gun and, voila - an original creation!

Google Kentucky Derby Hats. Here's a link to cheaper versions. Other sites have much more beautiful hats with prices ranging from $250 to $500.

Like another poster suggested making her own would be fun and cheaper.
