WE always use the Hampton INN on 466 , It has a great free hot breakfast buffet, and is close to everything as well as being in the center of the villages. It is well kept and clean.

When we came down, we were able to rent in the villages, check with your sales agent.

Make sure you sign up for their Hilton Honors program. It has good benefits. We stayed in this Hampton Inn and found it to be perfect while looking in The Villages. Clean, close to The Villages, and friendly staff.

When we came down to purchase, we found a Villa in TV. Fairly cheap, with golf cart. A lot of Landlords might love filling in an open week.

We used M Rentals. Not sure if they are open.

My cousin who has been in the hotel management business for 40+ years always tells me when in doubt, pick a Hampton Inn. They are pretty consistent in what they provide (cleanliness and otherwise) and more economical than most other big names.

But dewilson58 does have a point. In 4 weeks you will be into the month of May and renting in The Villages is much more reasonable then. You may find a 1 week rental in a villa to be cheaper than a hotel room for a week. Check out thevillages4rent.com.

There is a lady in St. James that advertises on thevillages4rent. She rents 2 rooms with separate, private entrance. I believe it is $500 week. She has a beautiful designer home. One bedroom and sitting room with refrigerator, microwave etc.

I would try to fined a rental in the villages so you can get the total experience if not the Hampton is great and they do have a reasonable laundry room.

I would also recommend a rental. In 4 weeks it will be the start of the off season so you might get good rates

I don't know how you intend to get around during your visit - keep in mind that the Hampton inn is not golf cart accessible.

The Holday Inn Express is very nice with breakfast included. But with tax 7 nights will be about $700.Try the rental market.$500 should get you a 2 BR villa with a golf cart.
