One would think that all the Beef O Brady's in the area would be the same but they are not. My husband and his 15 golfing buddies had a terrible experience a week ago at the Colony Beef O Brady's. The 16 guys arrived @ Beef's and were assigned a server. One of the guys requested that all of the beverages be on one check as that bill is paid for out of a pool the guys have for the drinks and that they all would be eating & those orders would be separate checks. This has been done for many many weeks with this golf group at every place they've gone to after golfing. The waiter indicated that no way would he be able to do the drinks on a bill by itself that it was just too confusing to do that. The guys requested to see the manager as the waiter got huffy & said he just wasn't going to put the drinks on a separate bill. The manager refused to come out and address the situation. One of the guys went to the kitchen area and spoke calmly to the hiding manager explain the situation with the check as well as the rude waiter and the managers reaction was " sorry"! Needless to say the group chose not to stay and eat as planned. Beefs & the server lost a good chuck of money that day as all 16 guys left. Very poor customer service and very poor management. By the way, NEVER has Beef's on 42 or Southern Trace treated these guys badly...just the opposite, ALWAYS great service & great food with the server getting tipped very well.

Guess I won't be going to the Colony Beef's with 15 buddies and ask to put all the drinks on one check.
Seriously though, I can't see how it would be confusing to put all the drinks on one check

Its a no brainer. As a matter of fact, when taking the food order had they eaten would have been very easy as the server wouldn't have had to match the drink with the food order. Oh well, it's Beef's loss.

I have always been pleased with the food and service at the Beef O'Bradys at Southern Trace. Once in a while the salads leave a lot to be desired maybe because they ran out of some ingredient.
Sorry to hear about your husband and his friend's bad experience. I never though give a restaurant just one chance. I like to go back and see if they have improved.

The Colony Beef's goes through staff like water. Has to be a management issue.

Why is there always a problem with large groups that show up once every two months and expect the restaurant to treat them like VIPs ---Large groups especially golf groups can inconvenience the regular customers with loud conversation about their game -thinking everyone should now about so and so missing the put on the 5th hole....

Our golf group goes to the Colony Beef occasionally and we've never had a problem. We happened to go there after a hole in one and they were happy to put all the drinks on my ticket. There were at least a dozen of us there that day.

It is my understanding that BO'B is a franchise and that each location is separately owned. So it may be an individual problem depending on the store.
Also..most restuarants are NOT thrilled with large groups at any time unless they are a pre-sold banquet in a separate room. I know a few restaurant managers and I've been told that EVERYBODY on staff groans when a big group (or groups) comes in. It's almost always more hassle for the restaurant than it is worth. No..for the most part they won't tell you that, they'll just grit their teeth and bear it, but they can't wait to see them leave.

Dif a franchise, originated in Tampa. Not sure if each is an individual owner, or if someone(s) owns several of the local Beef's. In any case, like each and every franchise location, they can vary with owner / manager(s). Someone built a BIG stand alone Beef's in Belleview, service was beyond horrid and it lasted about 6 mos. "Someone" took a serious financial bath on that one. BTW, Mojo's Kitchen moved their Belleview location into the closed Beefs and is flat killing it .... minting money!
grew up in the rest biz .... generally true on all points.

The last time I went to this Beef O'Brady's, was during football season to watch a football game on their DirectTicket NFL package.Even though it was a sunny day the manager refused to change the Weather Channel to the football game we wanted to watch. They stress in their advertising to come watch your favorite team play but she sure didn't accommodate our request.Hence,I've never gone back.

Well let me tell you I go to Beef's a lot at Colony. And I can tell you I've lived here for a long time too and all the servers for the most part have been there for awhile and give excellent service!

This group of 16 guys DID NOT expect the restaurant to treat them like VIPs. This group did expect to be treated like customers and they were not. BTW, a group of 16 is not what I'd call a large group and in this case certainly not a difficult group. Draft & bottled beers on one check... 16 checks with wings or burgers is not difficult.
Apparently you are a regular customer.
