Just a friendly hello to introduce myself (Linda), and my husband (Wally). We are from Brookline New Hampshire and just returned from buying our retirement home in the Village of Amelia!
We are so excited! We won't be full time until next September, but we can't wait to make the Villages our permanent residence. We have lots to do to get ready for the big move South...since we bought a furnished home, we need to sell/donate, etc. and simply downsize all our "stuff"!
I also wanted to thank everyone for all the wonderful information that you have provided here. I have been reading posts for the last 2 years or so to help educate us on everything "Villages"....
Did I mention how excited we are?

Welcome. We relocated from NH to TV full time about eight years ago and have never regretted it. I do, however, miss my sons and their families and I miss the ability to garden like I used to do up North i.e. asparagus straight out of the garden, home grown wonderful tomatoes, pole beans and peas. However, I don't have to worry about having an early killing frost around Labor Day, and wondering what is going to make it through the winter!, and I certainly do not miss the black flies and the mosquitoes big enough to carry you away.
Enjoy your new life, I am sure you have earned it.

Welcome!
To assure you, you won't be alone. We golf with several folks from N.H. and see many golf carts N.H. license plates.

Hi and welcome to paradise. We are also from nh. This is our 4th winter in TV. We are actually back in nh right now to sell our lake home and finally become true villagers. I'm looking at snow that fell over night.. Didn't need to see that ever again, but it is a clear reminder of the direction we want to be headed,,,. South and heat and a fabulous lifestyle.

We are from New Hampshire as well. Just moved down full-time this past July. Our New Hampshire neighbors say we escaped the worst winter in years! Yes! Welcome to The Villages where "life is easy."

Congratulations you will not regret it. We moved here from Massachusetts a little over a year ago and love it. We do go back for a vacation in the summer so we can get some real seafood. :)

We can't wait! The only thing that will keep us going is cleaning out our NH home to sell next year....
I hear ya about the seafood....we sure are spoiled on that front! Gonna miss Brown's up at Hampton for clams and nothin' beats our Maine lobsta ;-)

It was brutal Happydaz! Not just the snow - but it's been soooo cold! We had one nice day since we came back last week. It's been in the 20's at night and not much higher during the day! I don't think Spring will ever get here....
At least the grass is greening up a little...a couple daffodils poking their pretty heads through the mulch....delifinitely not as pretty as TV was!

We will definitely do that once we get there full-time! Seems like quite a few NH transplants!
Thanks chachacha!!!

Welcome to The Villages. I moved here in August 2012 from Dover NH.
I do miss the tulips and lilacs, but, do not miss the snow, ice and cold weather.
I also miss my friends and family...

Welcome to the Sunshine State. We moved from Goffstown, NH to the Village of Charlotte in November 2012. You'll love it here. We don't miss it, except for some friends and family still back in New England. Here we don't have any biting black flies. But, we do have love bugs. They don't bite us... they're busy with each other. One of the best things about The Villages... free snow removal.
Let us know when you get here.
