Went there onces. enough. Walked in at 2:00, was told they were closed.
People were eating. They said they close at 2:00. No sign on any door and door was not locked. That was enough. Never again.

If your lunch time is after 2:00, then never again makes sense.

Billy's is a breakfast and lunch place. Never again? I could care less if you never go again, but in the scheme of things you never tried the food at the appropriate times....just a thought.

Billy's Cafe is a breakfast and lunch restaurant and their hours are posted.
It's unfortunate that you went there at 2 p.m. on the nose.
Yes, there were people inside still eating,
but they all had been there well before closing time.
In all fairness to any restaurant,
do you really think it's fair for anyone to expect service
at the exct time a place is ready to close when they are
getting ready to clean up for the next day?
Personally, I would be embarrassed to walk in a restaurant
at their closing time and expect to be served.

I have eaten there three times, always had to wait for a table, but found it worth the wait every time. :MOJE_whot:

I've been there many times. Best breakfast in the area. Twice as good and half the price of Cracker Barrel.

I Agree.
Cracker Barrel advertises home made dumplings and then gives you egg noodles.

Billy's Cafe is a very good place for breakfast. There are a couple of other good places that serve b'fast and lunch and close at 2pm also. Another one is Lil Bits on CR101 and the other is Sonrise Cafe in Southern Trace shopping plaza. I've been to them all but my latest preference is Lil Bits. They really cook to your order, food is delish and service outstanding.
I thought it was a little odd when I first arrived in TV that some b'fast/lunch restaurants close at 2pm but I'm now used to it but would never say, I won't be back, because your missing a lot. All those places really make good b'fasts.
Cracker Barrel's bacon is something like I've never seen, tastes like cardboard. Sorry CB, I'm a bacon fanatic.

I don't mind waiting for a table - especially at Billy's...but...waiting for a parking pace there really cracks me up...but we do it! ;)
What with the OP never returning there again - looks like there will be one less car waiting for a parking space and one less name on the sign-in sheet! :MOJE_whot:

Sounds like a place we will want to visit for breakfast when we come in May. I love the way people speak up.

I don't go there anymore because of some diet changes I made, but I used to go there often and loved it. I have always thought of Billy's as a place inhabited by people who really know what they're doing. If it's crowded you have to sign the sign up sheet, but I've always been seated within a couple of minutes. The wait staff are pros, serving food with one hand and doing a left handed reverse coffee pour with the other, and not spilling a drop. The food always come out quickly and it's always good and plentiful. Of all the restaurant "reviews" I've seen on TOTV, criticizing Billy's for walking in at closing time and being told they're closed is crazy.

It is directly across 441 from the car wash, that is in front of Lowes/Beals

We had a similar experience our first time going to Billy's. Got there too late. We did go back on other occasions because we just hate to think we missed something good. Our second and third experiences went much better than the first. I honestly can't say that it was anything exceptional as far as quality of food or service. It wasn't a bad experience - just not good enough to go back.

We've always talked about going in sometime for lunch AFTER the population thins out in June or July. But I won't wait in line for a table anyplace. Sure, a few minutes, but never 15 minutes plus, which is why we avoid all the restaurants around here from late December-May. The only cooking I would wait in line for is my mother's. So maybe this summer we'll get a chance to try out Billy's.

I have a friend who has raved about Billy's for awhile now. Since we don't often do breakfast have not yet stopped there. Thank you for letting us know what time not to go.

Billy's Café is the closest thing to a DINER that you will find in the area. Breakfast and lunch, closing at 2:00 Pm. Just get there early enough to be seated, however a short wait is worth the time. Good food, good prices, good people.

Heard good things about Billy's Café. Whenever we passed by, the parking lot was pretty full - our indication that patronage was good. Decided to go there for breakfast. Had a Denver Omelet. In all truth, it was nothing to write home about. Think we will put the café on our "been there, done that" list.

Aww...I don't think so. Eating out around here is more convenience than anything else. Most of the things that we would eat out can be made just as easily at home, and taste just as good or better. If we can get in and get seated, fine. That's the convenience of it all. But if I've got to wait, 30, 45, 60 or 60+ minutes for a seat, I'd just as soon stay home and cook.

Overall, the eating establishments in TV are mediocre at best. Mostly chains. Not great fine dining. Guess you have to go to Orlando for that!!
