English, we'll introduce my Dad to your parents and he'll have them dancing in the aisles. He'll also be able to keep up with all of you about that stupid game of football. He loves it and golf as well. Oh, to hit 91 and be as great as he is.... sigh!!

Dear Red,
Since you are saying there will be no wedding bells, perhaps we can have a faux wedding?
The list of guest continues to grow.

Tony, Hyacinth Bucket is a TV character in an English Comedy Series - KEEPING UP APPEARANCES.
She does everything the "correct way" - stamps on envelopes are lined up using a ruler, same with place settings, invitations, etc.
She allows no one in her house with their shoes on, is careful not to let anyone brush up against her walls, shows off her china, etc.
When she answers the phone she always says "Lady of house speaking...", if you pronounce her last name incorrectly she corrects you instantly as she rolls her eyes, she pronounces it bouquet.
She is always looking to impress everyone with what she does, where she goes, including her zip code, etc.
I am not doing the show or her character justice. I think you can borrow the DVD from your local library.

A faux wedding would be delightful. Thank you.
(Wonder how the semi-groom-to-be is going to feel about this? Kathie, you'll have to warn him.)

Ok you guys, One last post and then I'm calling it a night.
Pop is soooo excited to faux marry Red. He's hysterical and will go along with anything. He is so crazy, now i know who I take after. He's excited that she's a lot younger than most of his girlfriends.
Red, your in a lot of trouble now.
Your step daughter, Kath

This should be interesting. Hope no one expects me to be a faux blushing bride.
Trying to imagine Kathie as my faux step-daughter. Can't wait til I ground her and take away puter privileges for a week.

Great Fumar,
I checked our your car and I think that will be the ideal faux Honey Moon car. Originally I thought of a golf cart, I have now changed my mind.
Will you be the chauffeur, appropriately dressed of course?

Red, PLEASE do not threaten our poor poor shy, extremely shy Kathie. We want this wedding to take place! She may influence her Pop in a negative way - she will be afraid of you.

OK, I'll her puter alone but I'll take her car keys. (Everyone will appreciate that one!) :a20: :a20:
HB, since this will be a faux wedding, do you think it would be okay for the bride to wear jeans and a t-shirt?

I attended a wedding at a Country Club. Everyone including bride and groom wore golf attire. Brides shirt was lacelike and she had a small veil. They left with golf clubs held above their heads. Before the reception there was free golf for all. Now that was a fun wedding.

Red, I have given great thought to what your wrote. Okay on the first part.
Dress - well now I have to think about that. You do know that there is the color scheme to think about. As soon as we have the color scheme then we can discuss your attire.
Is Jess going to give you away? I think Kathie should give her Dad away. Donna could be the flower person, riding down the aisle on her horse.
You realize this will take great planning and we can not do anything to hasty.

HMMMM ... Will have to think about Jess. Thinking it should probably be her cat since the brat tries to shove me out of bed every night and Poppa may be taking her spot. ;)
I thought Kathie could be the "best man" and Jess the maid of honor. Course, they're both really girly girls so Kath would probably be a bad idea as the best man but she is dad's best friend.
Not sure you should take too long to plan this whole thing out. I'm awfully gunshy and have run away twice (but both times was shortly after the engagement, not close to the wedding). I may chicken out even for a faux wedding.

Honeymoon????? We may be going a tad too far here. Faux wedding is one thing. Kathie for a daughter-in-law is, er, um ..... interesting. But a HONEYMOON??? Well, only if we're going somewhere really nice. I do love Nassau.
